Casa de Algar
The term "Algar" comes from the Arabic "Al-gar" and means "cave/hollow," referring to a natural cavity formed by water. In the property, there are several mines, wells, and natural water reservoirs.
The estate is located on a south-facing slope protected by hills that provide a microclimate favorable for grape ripening and the proliferation of a rich and diverse biodiversity.

Main House
The main house dates back to the last century and was restored in the 90s. Respect for the original style was the foundation of the reconstruction, preserving the stone kitchen with the wood-fired oven, the sliding windows, and many of the existing antique artifacts and furniture in the house.

Traditionally, the vineyards were planted along the borders of the plots, with a predominance of red grape varieties, particularly the "Vinhão." The conversion of the vineyards began in the 1990s and was modernized by planting in rows and introducing new grape varieties that were not traditionally used. This allows for the production of high-quality wines that express the characteristics of the region, which is increasingly focused on white wines.
